Nestled within Bangalore's lanes of converted homes, this project transforms a formerly residential space into a vibrant Asian diner.

Unfolding across 1,700 sq ft of what was once a home's ground floor, the design leverages the low ceilings and compartmentalized rooms as an opportunity. The design response
Celebrating Indian artistry, the studio in collaboration with Channapatna craftsmen created a striking 250-module wooden installation. Each module is turned by hand and finished with natural lacquers.

Transforming physical places into emotional spaces

The installation serves as both a sculptural focal point and spatial illusion. Suspended from the ceiling in a precise 450mm grid, the modules create rhythmic visual texture while strategically positioned mirror cladding on the intrusive beams dissolves structural boundaries, extending the installation into apparent infinity.

The material palette grounds the space in regional authenticity while maintaining the refined taste demanded by modern dining. Locally quarried Sadharalli granite creates a continuous language in subtle grey tones that flows throughout the restaurant while Birch wood panelling adds warmth. Red, green and yellow mosaic tiles infuse a youthful energy in the atmosphere.

The colour scheme unites the design as well as adds a surprise. Pastel pinks and greens add an elegant edge essential to fast-casual diners. The lights are customized in organic forms made of raw silk crafted in Pondicherry.

In transforming a modest home into a vibrant diner, the design strikes a harmonious balance between the frenetic pace of fast-casual dining and slow rhythms of human craft.
